During the BLON festival, students and teachers of the Department of Photography, Animation and Media Art of VDA will be organising the 'Animation Laboratory: Magical and Disappearing Boundaries'. The Animatest educational initiative, organised by animation students, will run three animation workshops for young people aged 14-19 years, and one workshop children up to 7 years old.

September 5th 4.00-7.00 PM, Rotoscopy/2D
Participants in this workshop will shoot a short video on their own. This video will then be converted into a sequence of frames, which will be projected onto a large-format sheet of paper or whiteboard. Each frame is then rotoscoped using charcoal or markers. The final video will then be edited.
2D workshop task: Flip book.
Participants in this workshop will use the help of the scoreboard to draw animation frames, numbering them in sequence. At the end, the pages of the booklet (frames) are stapled together and given to the participants.
September 6th 4.00-7.00 PM, Stop Motion Animation
Stop Motion: moving plasticine animation Each participant will choose some plasticine in their favorite colour and roll it into a ball. Their main task will be to transform the ball into a chosen animal as carefully as possible.
September 7th 4.00-7.00 PM, VR/ Photogrammetry
Photogrammetry requires only your phone (and if you wish, you can bring an opaque, non-reflective object that we will try to scan and animate with the help of the app). The VR task will only require your imagination. In this task, we will create space, characters and objects.
